A few notes from here and there…
– Washington: King Beverage to buy K&L Distributors beer wholesaling business
Levine said that while he can’t make promises for King Beverage, it does not have a Seattle-area operation and is likely to need a warehouse, drivers, salesmen and other workers on this side of the mountains. “I’m looking for an extremely smooth transition,” he said. The deal will roughly double King Beverage’s annual distribution to 11 million to 12 million cases, Levine said
– Kansas: Craft Business Daily reports that, after 14 years as business partners in Kansas, New Belgium is switching over from Glazer’s Distributing to AB network, Kansas Craft Alliance. KCA bought the whole Glazer’s beer portfolio in the state.
– Florida: The United We Drink podcast reports that the portfolio for Merchant Duvin (including Samuel Smith’s and Lindeman’s) recently moved from Gold Coast Distributing to Brown Distributing. Gold Coast says it is the largest beer wholesaler in the state. Roberts noted that Brown is working on getting more of the limited beers from Samuel Smith’s and Lindeman’s.
– Ohio: Anheuser Busch Sales of Canton has applied for a state liquor permit to distribute bottled wine according to Cantonrep.com.
