Kona Longboard Lager cans

Another 100,000 barrel brewery adding cans next year

In the last month, Beernews.org has reported that Goose Island, Long Trail, Redhook and now Kona Brewing are all planning to add cans to their package mix in 2012. All four breweries are producing above 100,000 barrels annually.

Longboard Island Lager is the first beer that Kona will put in 12 oz. cans. The cans will (presumably) be produced at the same facility as Craft Brewers Alliance partner, Redhook. Redhook will launch Long Hammer IPA as its first beer in cans next year. [ed. note: Copperhook cans, a label for which was posted here earlier this year, has yet to come to fruition.]
