Half Acre Beer Co. answers to questions around Philly distribution

Half Acre is run by a couple of Chicagoans that grew up outside of Philadelphia. The actual Half Acre resides along the banks of the Delaware River in eastern PA. We were raised on the east coast and would like to get some beer flowing in the bars where we’re from. Half Acre isn’t the result of a set of business decisions that maximize corporate prosperity, etc, etc, yada, yada. Half Acre is our life and part of that is wanting to toast our families & friends back east that have supported us in this endeavor.

If we take the brewery’s figure in the blog post of “a fraction of 1%” and actually crunch the math on that…

1% times 10,000 barrels produced in 2012 (just a projection based on this) is 100 barrels or 200 1/2 barrel kegs a year or no more than 16 kegs on average per month.

If the brewery ends up producing at a regional pace as it hopes to (15,000 barrels a year), you can probably assume up to 24 kegs per month in 2013 and 2014.

Damn, that ain’t much but it’s better than nothing.
