Jolly Pumpkin, Maui Brewing collaborating on a sour red
In the video above, Jolly Pumpkin Owner/Brewer, Ron Jeffries, and Maui Brewing Lead Brewer, John Walsh, are shown as they collaborate on what will be a Sour Red. In another short video, Jeffries mentioned that they would be brewing ten batches of the beer in Dexter (at JP) and eight batches “later this year” at Maui. That last part confuses me because there are only about ten days left in 2011 but we’ll assume it was an accident.
This will be a Sour Red brewed with a Hawaiian passion fruit called Lilikoi and Michigan cherries. Just pray that you don’t get Batch two unless you are freaky about your tartness (see the video).

Sounds delicious… or maybe that was just the Devo in the background?
Can’t wait to try that one!
Just a head’s up, it’s actually spelled lilikoi and I’ve heard that this collaboration is going to be poured @ The Kona Brewers Festival. But, that last part isn’t confirmed yet.
