Beck’s Beer caught in “Globgate” after man finds foreign object in beer bottle
"His beer tasted awful and he wiped off what looked like dirt from the bottle cap," the woman said in a post on viral news site reddit, under the username Seenbean.
"We go into the kitchen, pour the beer down the sink and something slipped out. I turned it over and it kind of looked like a mushroom and smelled a whole lot like s—."
A Reddit user referred to the glob as the result of a likely pasteurization failure. A “beer oyster.” I then searched Google and came up with nothing about beer oysters.
Was is just a glob of yeast?
Becks is phasing out imports to USA. Now made under license by Budwieser in St. Louis. The new label says “German quality” instead of “imported” and taste horrible. Been drinking Becks for ten years exclusively. Changing brands now. Good job Buttwiper!
Unfortunately, Paul has it right. The “new” Beck’s, made in St Louis is horrendous! No head, no body, tastes like donkey piss. After 20+ years, I am also looking for a new beer. Remember Lowenbrau, a Munich beer? Sold their license to Miller, who fiddled with the recipe until the beer was characterless and died a silent death…here we go again. Thanks a whole lot, AB.
Yep. Me too. Refuse to buy Becks now that it’s made in the same factory as Natural Light & all the other piss AB calls beer. I want my German beer brewed BY Germans IN Germany!!!
This just happened to me. I was on my second bottle of Beck’s Saphire and noticed a terrible taste after a few sips. I did not think anything of the dirt that I wiped from the bottles. I poured the beer in a glass and saw what looks like eye balls. It was disgusting. Who should I contact about this?
