Founders Brewing expanding distribution to Maryland, projecting 75k barrels in 2012

The brewery recently installed an additional 85 Barrel brewing system, which increased its capacity to 200,000 barrels per year and expects to produce 75,000 barrels in 2012. Locally, these beers can be found in Virginia and Washington D.C., with expansion into Maryland expected early this year.

Another interesting side note…Centennial IPA and Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale are the top two sellers for the brewery, accounting for 40% of sales.

H/T to DC Beer.

  1. Any word on whether or not they’re expanding to Florida in 2013? I recently heard a rumor and would like to know for sure…

  2. They are working on it. What you heard was probably what we reported here this past Friday. They are in negotiations with wholesalers and already registered to do business in the state. That is all we know at the moment.
