(Bay Shore, NY) – Coming off the success of their past two seasonal releases, Great South Bay Brewery officially launches the latest brand in their seasonal program, Kismet Saison, a Belgian style farmhouse ale perfect for spring weather. Bearing the name of a popular seasonal area of Fire Island just a few miles from the brewery across the Great South Bay on the south shore of Long Island, the brewery strives to keep the local spirit alive with this new release.
Owner and Brewmaster Rick Sobotka, a board certified anesthesiologist at Bay Shore’s Southside Hospital, has always been inspired by the area in which he chose to build his brewery and continues to pull influences from this waterfront destination. Sobotka was quoted as saying, “We are very proud to be a part of this community. The warm reception we’ve gotten from the town and its citizen’s has been more then we could have ever hoped for. We put our heart and soul into our beers and do this out of the love of the craft, we feel it is our duty as brewers and members of this community to give something back to the place we call home.”
Although this is not the first brand of beer brewed by Great South Bay Brewery to bear the name of a local hot spot, they plan to continue this trend as the brewery progresses. Names and styles are already in the planning stages for release over the next few years.
Great South Bay Brewery plans to release Kismet Saison on Thursday February 16, 2012 at their tasting room located at 2309 Union Blvd Bay Shore, NY at 3pm with full distribution to Nassau and Suffolk Counties through their distributor, Clare Rose, Inc., on Tuesday February 21, 2012.
The brewery’s offerings are currently only available on draft at local bars, restaurants and retail beverage centers across Long Island as well as at their brewery during tasting room hours. Great South Bay Brewery plans to produce large format bottles and 6-pack cans later this year once the construction on their new 30 barrel brew house has been completed.
