The societal return of cocktails and spirits to American drinking culture bears a strong similarity to that of craft beer. With a focus on quality over quantity, craftsmanship, and the art of presentation, the two cultures seem destined to work together. In reality, however, beer tends to get lost and overwhelmed as an ingredient in cocktails.

  1. I disagree – while blends and collaborations are more curiosity than anything, they’re experiments, and I like seeing experiments in the craft beer scene. If somebody spends all their time making nothing but these sorts of things, I could write that brewery off as a gimmick, sure, but blends and collaborations are fun things to do that occasionally result in some good product, and collaborations also foster networking and social ties between brewers that can be beneficial for other single-focused brewing projects as well…

  2. Andy better be careful, the Alstrom’s might ban him from BA for commentaries like that.
