For those of you who are not yet familiar with the 5 Mile series of beers:

We created 5 Mile with the sole purpose of crafting exceptional beers using local ingredients. 5 Mile’s mission is to use at least 50% MA ingredients while always having at least one ingredient from within 5 Miles of Ipswich. We believe there is nothing better than supporting local agriculture to make a product that is unique to Massachusetts and the North Shore.

Look for the second of our 5 Mile beers, the 5 Mile Pumpernickel Rye Porter: a complex beer with an intricate array of aromas and flavors derived from substantial amounts of specialty malts. The Ipswich grown rye, roasted at Valley Malt, paired with chocolate malts impart a subtle spicy, chocolate note. Additionally, the CarabBohemian Malts give this beer a malty, slightly sweet characteristic with a rich body and a finish that will leave your pallet eager for the next sip.
