Lagunitas Brewing expanding distribution across U.S.

Lagunitas beers currently are distributed in 35 states and Washington, D.C., including major beer markets like California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois and Pennsylvania. With a $14 million brewery enlargement that will more than triple annual capacity from 185,000 barrels to as much as 600,000 barrels, Lagunitas will expand into another 14 states, bringing distribution to 49 states.

Tennessee is the lone state that won’t have Lagunitas due to an ABV cap around 6%. UPDATE: Contrary to the Shanken report, a Lagunitas rep says that the company expects to open Tennessee in June or July. Locals think it could be as early as next month.

  1. I hope this will mean that Lagunitas’ seasonal offerings will be more readily available in my state. I hardly ever see anything besides “IPA,” “Maximus” and “A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’.”

  2. Tennessee will be getting Lagunitas…TN gets higher ABV beers, they just have to be sold in Wine and Spirit stores. They are already set to be hitting shelves around April/May.

  3. Great news. Now I don’t have to get people to pick up bottles of Hop Stoopid for me when they’re in Missouri and Illinois.

  4. Seems like a bit of a rapid expansion. I look at great craft breweries that have had to pull out of markets, so I just hope they don’t expand too fast…
