Collaboration brewers shut out journalist after report leads to investigation

[…] I’m first and foremost a journalist, and that means reporting the good and the bad. This week the breweries shut the Coloradoan out of covering the collaborative brew they were doing with several other breweries because they thought we asked too many questions they didn’t want to answer.

  1. The linked story doesn’t actually say which law was the issue (though references to “why does this law exist in the first place and where does it come from.” were made). You have to go to: http://www.coloradoan.com/article/20120410/BUSINESS/204100328/Fort-Collins-brewers-begin-second-annual-collaboration-amid-questions-about-sale-beer for that information, which is:
“Under Colorado Beer Code, brewers are permitted to brew a beer together, but if they want to sell that beer in their respective breweries, they must pay the brewer where it was made for the beer they sell, Couch said.”
