(Petaluma, CA) – Lagunitas Brewing Owner, Tony Magee, tweeted something of a bombshell this morning. Lagunitas “already has a second 250 bbl brewhouse in the pipeline.” To put this in perspective, Lagunitas’ current phase of expansion gives the brewery maximum capacity potential of 800,000 annual barrels. Another brewhouse on top of that would hypothetically raise annual capacity over one million barrels.
Lagunitas brewed in the ballpark of 160,000 barrels last year, up around 60% over 2010.
Naturally, we have questions. First and foremost, where would they be putting that new 250bbl brewhouse?
A request for more info is out to the brewery.
