Man confesses to eBay’ing beer, “addiction” that cost him thousands

I’m going to write this as a stream of consciousness. There will be no editing or censoring. It’s a better way to share my thoughts. Since everyone loves a good scandal, I will address that first but try to remain short on the subject only to clarify things and provide some insight. The second section, more important in my opinion will be focused on the bigger picture of the beer resale market. I consider resale the act of passing a beer to someone in exchange for goods where neither party are a brewer, distributor or store.

Can you relate?

  1. A Jack, I am nacho father, but if I were I would be very discheesed with you.

  2. No, I can’t f%^&ing relate. The fact that this is on the front page of Beerpulse is sad. This guy is just trying to manipulate everyone. He screwed people over and now he’s going to get away with no issue because you’re furthering the notion that this motherfucker has an “addiction”. This is a joke.

  3. Sorry to disappoint you but this is what people want to read, maybe just not you. It’s the most-viewed story of the day. That said, I did put “addiction” in quotes just now to make it more clear that addiction is in the title of the post because that is the word that the original author used.

  4. Adam Jackson is a self serving hypocrite. All he does is continually post things, mostly on ratebeer after being banned from the Fat Brothers'(tm) site, to get traffic to his website. His sole purpose is to drive traffic to his site with his crazy claims. Congratulations, you fell for the guerrilla tactics he uses for his, supposed, business of driving traffic to websites. The guy is a mental case. For real.

  5. I used my real name t ok maintain the level of “transparency” this guy cries about.
My guess is this is the most-read story of the day because these people in the “beer community” have beef with this guy.
I have never heard of him.
This is the same old tired bullshit of someone geeking out too much about beer and pissing off others in the process. Ironically, he’s pissing off people who piss off other people.
Many of his points are valid, even if he’s misguided or arrogant. Reselling in person or online, “trading” and shipping without a license are all illegal. Sorry, it’s just the way it is.
If you want something you can’t get locally, plan a trip.
Don’t trade beers, share them in a community setting.
Extreme geekery is derailing the craft beer movement. It’s also upsetting a lot of brewers.
Can’t we just go back to appreciating beer? Why do we have to “Advocate” it?…and isn’t it sad that term now has such a negative connotation?
    Cheers

  6. Couldn’t relate at all. Haven’t gone through my savings buying beer. Haven’t purchased or sold beer on ebay. Have no idea who he is (though he seems to be known to the BA’ers and RB’ers) but he went off the deep end. He seems to have missed Stan’s Rule #5.
