Hoping to capitalize on the growing thirst for craft beer in North Carolina, local developer Marty Kotis will open a $1 million microbrewery in Greensboro this fall to supply three of his restaurants with everything from cask ales to porters and stouts. The Pig Pounder Brewery — named after a beer launched by the Darryl’s restaurant chain in 1988 — is on tap to open in October at a 3,700-square-foot free-standing warehouse building that Kotis owns at 1107 Grecade St.
