(Fenton, MI) – Recall that just earlier this week, Michigan Brewing was evicted from its Webberville property. Well, it gets worse for the brewery. The town of Fenton just nixed a plan for Michigan Brewing to build a brewpub in what was formerly a fire station.
Michael Burns, assistant city manager and DDA director, said the brewery hadn’t met any of the stipulations it said it would do before it started construction on the building next week. The foreclosure of the Webberville location was announced, about a month ago, he said, which raised concerns. Burns said it was Tuesday’s eviction that resulted in the decision to terminate the lease agreement.
After being active on a near-daily basis, the Michigan Brewing social media accounts have been dormant for most of the week.
