(Washington D.C.) – The Washington Post’s Daniel Fromson is keeping close tabs on Neighborhood Restaurant Group’s latest project, Bluejacket.
Fromson did a story on the brewery’s name in mid-March, one of few in the U.S. not to carry “brewery,” brewing” or a similar variation. The brewery plans to begin operating its 15-barrel brewhouse next year. A coolship is part of the brewery buildout plan.
Until then, the company looks to generate some buzz with gypsy-style collaborations, Fromson reports today. Head Brewer, Megan Parisi, and NRG Beer Director, Greg Engert, have either collaborated with or hope/plan to collaborate with brewers from the following breweries: Cigar City, Funky Buddha, Dogfish Head, Allagash, Peekskill, DC Brau, Cabinet Artisanal Brewhouse, Stillwater Artisanal Ales, The Brewer’s Art, Mikkeller, and history-focused beer blogger, Ron Pattinson.
Head Brewer, Parisi, earned her stripes at Cambridge Brewing Company over a span of seven years.
