Budweiser: a “disaster” timeline

But something has happened in the past three decades and, while it still has clout overseas, the Budweiser brand is tired here at home. Undoubtedly, owners A-B InBev will try to save it with marketing, as they have always done. But will that be enough to return Budweiser to the throne and its former glory?

  1. Well, let’s ask biased craft beer lover #1: NO NEVER, CRAFT BEER 4 EVAAAR!!!

    4 realz:
I don’t get the point of this post. The masses don’t care, and mass lager will be at the top for a long time.

I also hate how craft beer is referred to as a “bubble”. It’s like saying that people caring more about the definition of their television (HDTV) is a “Bubble”. People want more as the old gets, well, old. If the craft beer “bubble” bursts, so will the artisanal wine and food “bubble”.

  2. Instead of wasting money on marketing, why don’t they start producing a good product that they make and sell in a responsible manner? People don’t just like that craft beer tastes better (but it helps), they also like the ethics and spirit of community that the craft guys have. Sure there are a few lawsuits and naming squabbles here and there, but for the most part they are all friends. And they help their communities, and don’t sell at AA meetings (in reference to the Whiteclay, NE article). Craft guys like being organic and natural, not just using the terms for marketing. You can actually look up to a craft brewery ethics. Something you can’t do with A-B, unless your name is Joseph Kony.
