Maryland farm brewery bill signed into law
In October, Barse, Frey, Clabaugh and others met with state politicians to see about the odds to pass a bill that would allow them to make and sell their beer from the farm, Barse said. To Barse’s amazement, the bill, based loosely on the law that allows wineries to sell their wares on premises, gathered steam and quickly passed in the House of Delegates and Senate. Gov. Martin O’Malley signed the bill into law last week, and it will go into effect July 1, Frey said.
