(Boulder, CO) – Avery Brewing Company National Sales Director, Ted Whitney, was part of a SAVOR salon (panel) on canned craft beer. A lot of the session revolved around storytelling and talking about beers. Whitney dropped a major hint as to a future beer release in cans though. Here is the exact quote from Whitney…
“(Avery duganA) is our Double IPA. We want it to be sixteen ounces. We looked into having tallboys on our current canning line setup and we had a really hard time transitioning between the two sizes [twelve ounces being the primary size]. That will be our first tallboy. When we can dedicate a line to sixteen ounce cans, we will get that rolling but it probably won’t be until we move into our new facility. We’re dying to put more flavors into cans.”
Avery won’t break ground on the new facility until the end of this year so don’t expect duganA cans (or tallboys, in general) before 2014.
