Oskar Blues Brewing logo crop(Longmont, CO) – Oskar Blues Brewery‘s Chris Katechis shared the news that the company plans to expand distribution on the Colorado Craft Beer Radio Show this past weekend.

The brewery starts shipping beer to Alabama this month. Launch events are planned for Huntsville from June 28 to 30th, Birmingham from July 1st to 5th and Montgomery on July 6th and 7th.

Oskar Blues’ Head Brewer, Dave Chichura, was also on briefly and mentioned that the company is currently planning to transition some Longmont employees to the company’s new facility in Brevard, North Carolina. Chichura said that he expects to make his first trip to Brevard soon. When Oskar Blues made the initial announcement, it planned to open the facility by the end of the year.

Chichura also noted that Oskar Blues has a new beer on tap at its locations, REEB Ride IPA. The beer is named after Oskar Blues’ Dale Katechis’ REEB Cycles business. While the beer is draft-only, Chichura indicated that the brewery would not be against adding it in cans eventually though there are no plans to do so at this time.
