Harpoon White IPA debuts in 100 Barrel Series next month

Harpoon White IPA(Boston, MA) – Harpoon Brewery is the latest brewery to add a “White IPA” to its portfolio. The beer will join the 100 Barrel Series next month as Session #43. More info on the beer below…

The 100 Barrel Series celebrates the brewing talents and creativity of Harpoon Brewers. From experimental styles to interpretations of old favorites, each 100 Barrel Series beer is a limited batch and a personal expression of the art of brewing. Every couple of months a different Harpoon brewer will spend a few late nights in the brewery, brewing test batches on the pilot system. This leads to the final recipe and, of course, a special, unique beer. You will find that brewer’s signature on each bottle of beer from their batch. So if you like the beer, you’ll know who to thank.

Brewer Ken Herrmann wanted to brew a uniquely American beer that would maintain the signature characteristics of two distinct styles while forging a direction of its own. Simcoe, Cascade, and Citra hops give this beer the citrus and floral notes of an IPA, while the spiciness and soft mouthfeel are more reminiscient of a Belgian Wit.
