Various news reports recently noted that IKEA began selling beer in some of its stores around Europe, most recently launching it in the UK. Not just any beer either but its own private label suds: Öl Mörk Lager (or Dark Lager) and Öl Ljus Lager (or Light Lager).

It’s looking like it may not cross the Atlantic though.

A spokesman for IKEA USA told BeerPulse on Friday that the company better known for its Scandinavian modern style furniture and accessories has no plans to import the beer to the U.S.A. The company has no plans to seek liquor licenses for any of its U.S. locations either.
