Stone IRS aged in Bourbon Barrels pulled from shelves, company looking into issues

Stone Imperial Russian Stout aged in Bourbon Barrels(Escondido, CA) – Word spread on Monday that a very limited beer from Stone Brewing’s Quingenti Millilitre program may be carrying an infection. Stone confirmed on Twitter that the company had bottles pulled from shelves and is investigating. Media and Communications Linchpin, Randy Clemens, shared some info on Beer Advocate:

Yeah, this is a major bummer to hear. We’re looking into the half-fills and the reports of infected bottles as we speak, and we’ll have much better information (as well as a solution to make it right!) after our meeting tomorrow. If you can’t wait that long, you’re welcome to bring your bottle(s) back—filled, empty, or anywhere in between—for a full refund, no questions asked. More details to come; thanks all for your patience, understanding, loyalty, and hopefully forgiveness.

The bottles had been going for a retail price of $20 each.
