(Denver, CO) – An estimated 40,000+ tickets sold out in record time for this year’s Great American Beer Festival with the majority of tickets sold in less than an hour between Tuesday’s members pre-sale and Thursday’s members sale.
At $65 each, with some tickets discounted for members at $55 each, the sales generated an estimated $3 million in revenue, including Ticketmaster fees applied with each purchase. Those fees of ~$8 add up to nearly $400k in surcharges.
On Stubhub, as of 11:30am MST (less than one hour after the sale completed), there are already 250 tickets available, ranging from $147-$298 per ticket which could generate more than $40,000 in revenue for resellers. Some of those have already sold.
Meanwhile, only a handful of tickets have gone up on eBay with the highest asking price so far being $700 for one pair of tickets.
