(Placentia, CA) – Here is the latest from The Bruery tasting room newsletter sent Wednesday morning.

Our big news for this week is that we will be serving a this years incarnation of Oude Tart as a ‘sneak preview’ for the upcoming release. This Flemish-style red ale is aged in red wine barrels for 18 months and is one of our most decorated beers, with Gold medals at both the Great American Beer festival and World Beer Cup. We only have one keg of this limited sour brew, so we would recommend coming in sooner than later to try it out before it is gone.
We will also continue to pour our two brand new collaboration brews: A Steins Throw and Washington OC. A Steins Throw is a 8.5% ABV amalgamation of a barley wine and a traditional stein beer brewed with TAPS Brewery in Brea. That beer is set apart by a special brewing process, where we heated granite rocks up to 900 degrees and added it to the wort with a generous addition of date sugar to create a rich brown ale with fruity esters and toffee richness that finishes dry. Bottles and draft will both be available all weekend long. Growlers will not be available for this release.
Washington OC, the second of our collaboration beers released last week, was brewed with our friends from the brand new Washington DC based brewery, Blue Jacket. Washington OC is a twist on a Belgian-style quad. We created our own caramel which gives this quad it’s dark color and burnt sugar characteristics and we added plums to the fermentor for a rich, dark fruity character. Those of you that got to try a ‘sneak-peek’ of this beer a couple weeks back know it is one worth coming out for. This beer is draft only and growlers will not be available.
