Brooklyn’s Oliver bottling White House Honey Ale soon

A quick taste of our proto-beer revealed a broadly fruity palate with some caramel and floral notes, and a good balancing bitterness. Based on this and the lab analysis, I decided to follow the recipe as written and leave the beer undiluted. We will bottle soon, and I think this beer is going to be fine.

Awaiting word from the brewery as to whether this will be any kind of ‘official’ bottling or an actual brewery release…stay tuned.

  1. Have they really handed out that many bottles on the campaign trail? Oliver is going through the process for the NYT with a 5 gallon batch–why would anyone think there’s a possibility for Brooklyn to bother packaging this up and sending it to a distributor? What would they possibly do with two cases of beer? I also give Oliver and Brooklyn more credit than to think they’d make a beer for the first time with someone else’s recipe and slap their name on it.

  2. There was some hyperbole (that I thought was obvious but yes, it is text, I admit) in my comment. Recipe is based on a 5 gallon batch (had to Google it, didn’t come from article) but do we know for sure that is how much they are brewing? I suppose Oliver may take them all home if that’s the case. No one ever suggested that they would have enough to send to a distributor.
