HopUnion president on challenges with shortage of specialty hops (video)
Brewing TV heads to Yakima, WA for a one-on-one tour and discussion with Hopunion president, Don Bryant. At one point, Bryant says that the challenge right now is that every brewer wants hops that they can’t get and no brewers want hops that they can get. Big craft brewers’ brands aren’t as flashy as younger up-and-coming brewers so they are looking to “iterate” with new hops and new flavors. Bryant talks about how they are trying to address the shortage with the hot hops like Amarillo.
