(Denver, CO) – Thai Me Up Restaurant and Brewery put the small town (pop: 9,957) of Jackson, Wyoming, on the map on Friday afternoon.
The brewery won the prestigious annual Alpha King Challenge, held at Rock Bottom Denver during GABF week, with its 2X4 Imperial IPA. The Hopunion-sponsored contest pits dozens of brewers against each other for the title of “the holy grail of well-balanced and drinkable, yet highly-hopped ales.”
168 beers were entered into the competition. Stone Enjoy by 11.09.12 IPA took second place while Alpine Bad Boy IPA took third. H/T to Nathan Smith for tweeting out the winners.
Pizza Port won the competition last year.
On an unrelated note, the Great American Beer Festival awards will be held on Saturday morning.
At Rock Bottom, not Falling Rock 🙂
good catch, thanks
