(Escondido, CA) – Another GABF revelation perhaps? Listen to the exchange that happens around the 15-minute mark between Stone Brewing Co. Brewmaster, Mitch Steele, and the Google employee. Steele is talking about Stone Enjoy By IPA. Could be reading too much into it but…

MS: “We’re looking at doing another batch before the end of the year that I hope gets up to the Bay Area.”
G+: “And possibly all the way to up to Oregon?”
MS: “Ohhhh, I don’t know when it’s going to go Oregon.” [Laughs] “Is that where you are?”
G+ “Yes, it is.”
MS: [Laughs] “Yeah, I’m not sure when it’s going to get to Oregon but Oregon is definitely asking for it so…it’ll get there.”

Sounds like the Bay Area is a finalist for the next Enjoy By IPA release. Morris Distributing is the wholesaler in that market and has been a strong performer for the company. Or maybe we’re just reading too much into Steele’s comments…
According to official statement from Stone HQ, “Stone Enjoy By IPA is decided based on social media interaction and our distributors ability to get the beer out as soon as possible after it’s bottled and kegged. The beer is based on the premise that we need to get it out fast once we’ve decided where it will go.”
For now, it looks like a couple more markets are going to get the beer either before the year is over or in January 2013. Stay tuned.
Currently fermenting away is Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale which will be a Belgian-inspired spiced ale this year.
Stone is also just getting ready to brew Old Guardian Barley Wine for 2013 release so in “Odd Beers for Odd Years” style, the company will be releasing another variation. No hints as to what that will be yet.
The brief interview also featured Stone Co-Founder and CEO, Greg Koch, for the first half.
If they replaced any of their beers with this year round it wouldn’t bother me one bit…
I just want to see 15th Anniversary in bombers year-round now that SSR is in four-packs.
dude, greg koch, is a god. i would love to hear more podcasts of him talking about how great he is. the craft beer industry would be nonexistent without his knowledge and arrogance. gargoyles are so cool.
Who decided to use this woman who obviously knows nothing about beer with generic questions. Picking someone on their looks not topic knowledge, bad call google. WAKE UP!
Some of her interviews were pretty bad though I wouldn’t chalk it up to her being a woman.
