(Asheville, NC) – New Belgium’s site plan for a new brewery in Asheville is making its way through City Hall.

Review of Level III site plan for the project identified as New Belgium Brewing Company located at 157 Craven Street. The project proposes to develop a brewery and distribution center. The 216,237 square foot facility will also include administrative offices, visitor’s center, and outdoor recreational spaces and the request includes modifications to driveway width, building height and landscaping.

According to the City of Asheville website, the commission will make a recommendation to City Council prior to a final public hearing.
Concept plans for Level III projects are first reviewed at a public meeting by TRC, consisting of representatives from various departments who will analyze the technical standards of the project. Once approved or approved with conditions by the TRC, the project will be then be heard in a public hearing by the Planning & Zoning Commission, who will make a recommendation on the project for City Council. The project will be heard at its final public hearing at City Council.
