(San Diego, CA) – O’Brien’s Pub in San Diego discovered on Friday that another bar of the same name based in Connecticut is using a nearly-identical version of its logo. The Connecticut bar’s Facebook page is beginning to see a rush of negative comments, some of which have not yet been deleted as of Saturday afternoon. Here’s what O’Brien’s has said over the past 24 hours on its Facebook page…

So check this SH$T out, some pub in Connecticut stole our logo: http://www.facebook.com/ObriensPub.Wallingford.
So it appears that all comments have been erased and any of us that commented on the other O’Brien’s site have been blocked from making any additional comments. And no response to Facebook messages or emails. Apparently now this will enter the dark world we call the law…
The 3 lions is part of the England Crest, so it appears in many English name crests. Jim’s original logo for the pub used the 3 lions crest from the O’Brien’s Herald. The lion with the mug was commissioned by me in 2002 in advance of taking over the pub in 2003. It was original art done for us. They could have used a lion with their altered mug and there would be no issue. Unfortunately, they stole our exact lion drawing, which they have no right to use. Thanks to everyone for all of the support. I will let you know when/if I hear anything from the owner’s of the CT O’Brien’s.
or that “artist” you commissioned stole it from a third party… what a joke.
Go Fuck Yourself, San Diego!
sorry, I just could NOT resist.
