(Austin, TX) – Jester King Craft Brewery’s Jeffrey Stuffings and Ron Extract recently joined The Beerists podcast to chat about the brewery and a lineup of six beers that they tasted with the program’s hosts.
Among what we learn, two months is the fastest boil-to-release timeframe for any one of their beers (whereas other breweries can turn around beers in as little as two weeks). Stuffings says that they’ve just shipped around 400 cases (split evenly-ish) of Funk Metal and Das Überkind.
According to a recent announcement regarding Funk Metal, “It takes quite a long time to make (about eight months) and also requires a lot of space for oak aging. Despite these constraints, we have already incorporated several more batches of it into our barrel program in order to make it more commonly available in the future.”
The Kitchn recently did a full-length feature on the brewery.
