(Minneapolis, MN) – What do you do as a brewery when you are virtually out of space for tanks but have soaring demand and need to up your production?
Increase output of the space you have with better, more efficient equipment.
This past week, Surly Brewing received a new kegging line that it says “will be up and running soon.”
Next week, the company will receive a new canning line, according to a photo shared by brewmaster, Todd Haug. He also shows a new x-ray switch (educated guess that the x-ray detects fill rates inside the cans and kicks out the bad ones?). Another post hints that the company will be keeping its existing canning line as well.
The additions point to increased production capabilities but, realistically, Surly will still have more than enough unfilled demand in Minnesota even with the new equipment. Probably not much need for markets the company pulled out of to get too excited with these developments.
