(Longmont, CO) – Six months after New Belgium entered Michigan, the Wolverine state is set to add another regional brewery.

Fellow Coloradoan, Oskar Blues, announced in its newsletter on Wednesday that it will open the state during the first week of March.

Marketing Director, Chad Melis, tells BeerPulse that the company has signed with four distributors and will launch with all of them that week: West Side Beer Distributing, Imperial Beverage, Great Lakes Beverage and 2011 Beer Distributor of the Year, Powers Distributing. New Belgium also went with Great Lakes and West Side last fall.

For kickoff, Melis says Oskar Blues will continue to go with a program similar to ones they went with in other Midwest states like Ohio. A big lineup of events are on tap which the company will lay out soon through official press and social media updates.

Drinkers can look forward to receiving virtually the whole portfolio, including Deviant Dale’s, GUBNA and Dale’s Pale Ale 19.2 ounce cans.

As for where the beer is shipping from, Melis says the first shipment will come out of Colorado but doesn’t know whether future shipments could come out of the new facility in North Carolina.

In other news, he stayed mum on what the future holds for the just-debuted Mama’s Little Yella Pils 19.2 ounce cans that popped up on the brewery’s Facebook page.

BeerPulse also asked about a potential mixed pack. Melis concedes that North Carolina opens up some possibilities for them to explore it further now that they have a little breathing room with respect to capacity. The mixed pack would likely include Dale’s Pale Ale, Old Chub and Mama’s Little Yella Pils. Each of the three beers are already sold in their own 12-packs.

Oskar Blues’ Chris Katechis told Colorado Craft Beer Radio this past week that they’ll do 130,000 barrels this year between the two locations.
