
Michigan Brewing Co. founder files for personal bankruptcy, owes $8.2 million
Embattled microbrewer Bobby Mason, founder of the defunct Michigan Brewing Co., of Webberville, has filed for Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy, listing assets of $3,236 and liabilities of more than $8.2 million. Mason, of rural Williamston, filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Feb. 28, four weeks after taking MBC into corporate bankruptcy. In MBC’s debt-liquidation petition, he claimed assets of $51,525 against more than $11 million in liabilities.

Damn, I guess this means that Screamin’ Pumpkin Spiced Ale is gone for good and was hoping by some sheer miracle of its return.

MillerCoors purchased the rights to MBC’s brands so there’s always a chance Screaming Pumpkin will be back…if you want to support Tenth and Blake.
Terrible management led to this – they should have stayed in the old building. Investors, who were kept in the dark about this debacle, lost close to $2,000,000 because of Bobby and Denise thivery. They are ducking and hiding beind chapter 7 while all of us have to suck it up and take the hit. And he says he’ll brew again! Good luck . . .
