To celebrate our 25th “beerthday” this year, The second beer in Gritty McDuff’s anniversary ale series is the “Big Blonde,” and it’s coming out just in time for American Craft Beer Week from May 13-19. This hybrid American pale/blonde ale features a big hop profile and is 6.2% ABV. Like some blondes, this one could be called a strawberry blonde. There are reddish tints in the beer’s color, but that color belies the beer’s complexity. The ale includes 4 different hops: Citra, Cluster, Willamette & Maine grown Centennial matched with 4 different malts and torrified wheat. The Blonde is then top fermented with Gritty’s trust worthy English Ale yeast. The result is a lively and robust ale that perfectly illustrates Gritty McDuff’s commitment to brewing Maine’s best beers.
