(Reading PA) – On Friday, Origlio Beverage reached an agreement to purchase All Star Distributing. The deal involving two Pennsylvania companies was estimated to be in the ballpark of $100 million according to a Biz Journals report early last year but hit a snag when Yuengling challenged the agreement. D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. and Origlio Beverage are pleased to announce their new partnership in Berks County which effectively resolves the litigation between All Star Distributing, Inc. and Yuengling. The parties came to a mutual resolution and the previously announced purchase by Origlio of All Star’s assets will proceed with an expected closing during the next few months.

Yuengling is proud to expand its relationship with the Origlio and Honickman families. This opportunity allows Origlio to expand its footprint northwest of the Philadelphia metro area. It provides for efficiencies that will allow Origlio to further invest in the marketplace in order to achieve superior levels of service for its diverse portfolio of malt beverage products to Eastern Pennsylvania retailers and, ultimately, consumers. The partnership will re-energize the Yuengling portfolio in its important home markets of Philadelphia and New Jersey where Origlio and its affiliates proudly service the industry. The McGlinn family, owners of All Star, will exit the malt beverage distribution wholesale business after 15 years of service.

As part of the transition in Reading, Yuengling will direct the distribution of its brands in Lebanon County which was previously serviced by All Star. Details will be formalized in the next couple weeks. All parties are pleased that their time and resources will be focused on the beer business and capitalizing on the opportunities ahead.
