
Infrastructure work around New Belgium’s Asheville site taken into consideration in delay
One scenario is that once deconstruction is finished, city officials would move ahead with infrastructure work it committed to doing as part of its $3.5 million incentive package, he said. That work includes greenway construction, improvements to Craven Street and the restoration of a stream on the property, a brownfield that was most recently home to a livestock market. “We met with the city on Tuesday and we think their work will now be more efficient if they have the whole site to themselves. When the work on Craven Street, they could use our property to detour traffic and stage equipment to help minimize the impact,” Richardson said.
