(Mustang, OK) – Taylor Hanson joined TMZ Live on Tuesday to discuss the band’s new album and more importantly, the upcoming Mmmhops beer.
Hanson starts off by saying that the band has been independent for a decade now and that, “We love craft brews.”
TulsaWorld.com reported this week that the band was moving up its marketing and release plans for the beer as it plans to donate merchandise sales to victims of the tornado that hit the band’s home state of Oklahoma earlier this month.
The beer will be available to the public for the first time exclusively at Hanson concerts starting early this fall. The band will be touring in support of a new album, Anthem, to be released on June 18th.
Hanson acknowledged the complex alcohol laws of America, noting that states have varying sets of regulations so it may take a while for the beer to get out there. They’re “in talks” with distributors around the country.
In the video above, the interview starts around the 18:00 minute mark.
While the packaging appears to be complete, Mustang Brewing founder, Tim Schoelen, told BeerPulse last week that the final recipe for the pale ale is still to be determined. Mustang, which also hails from Oklahoma, is producing the beer for the band.
Serendipitously, Hanson (the band) turns 21 this year.
