Jester King on-premise sales could begin as early as June 29th
“Should the pending legislation become law, we will begin operating in much the same way that breweries outside Texas have long been able to operate, which is to say that we will begin selling our products directly to consumers,” said Jester King Craft Brewery owner Ron Extract, adding that he hopes to be selling beer directly to consumers from the brewery by June 29.
Gov. Perry has until Sunday to veto the recently-passed beer bill package. According to Open The Taps, the bills become law even if Perry doesn’t sign the package. To-go sales remain illegal for breweries (hence why Jester King is going ‘brewpub’) but will be the main legislative priority in 2015, per OTT.
