UPDATE: We’ve made one correction below after receiving an official release from New Belgium, replacing S.R. Perrott with Daytona Beverage. We apologize for the error and the article below has been modified to reflect the update.
(Fort Collins, CO) – New Belgium Brewing has selected its wholesalers for Florida distribution, making the calls on Friday, and it is nearly a blue sweep with Daytona Beverage being the lone A-B wholesaler.
J.J. Taylor announced on social media on Friday that it would cover the Southwest part of the state including Tampa.
Gold Coast Beverage will cover the Southeast area including Miami, according to sources with BytheGlassShow.com.
Florida Distributing Company, a division of Reyes, has won the central part of the state including Orlando.
Champion Brands will cover the Northeast including Jacksonville.
Goldring Gulf Distributing will cover the Panhandle.
Cone Distributing, with warehouses in the Tallahassee and Ocala-Gainesville area, and Daytona Beverage, based out of Daytona Beach, will round out the state.
As of May, the plan was still to send beer to the market in late July. A New Belgium spokesman did not immediately return our call on Friday afternoon.
Florida has been a hotbed of activity over the past year with several regional breweries entering the market.
Founders Brewing is also scheduled to land statewide next month with Brown Distributing.
The most recent entry is SweetWater Brewing who is also available through Gold Coast Beverage, Cone and Goldring Gulf but chose other wholesalers for the rest of the state.
SR Perrott didn’t get New Belgium. Daytona Beverages the Budweiser house got it.
Thanks, was on the phone with New Belgium clarifying as you left this comment. As the update notes, apologies for the error.
Too bad it didn’t go to SR Perrott. They handle more craft beers than Daytona Beverage – who are just BUD loyalists. Just my opinion.
