Pennsylvania Senate passes major amendment to liquor privatization bill at 11th hour
The Pennsylvania State Senate on a straight party-line vote, passed what could become a major reform of how beer, wine and liquor is sold in Pennsylvania, giving new life to one of Gov. Tom Corbett’s major campaign pledges.
Craft brewers would get back a previously-expired tax credit as part of the amended proposal. Senate GOP leaders backing the bill are said to be right on the bubble in terms of needed votes to pass the legislation. The legislative session ends on Sunday night.
