(Bridgewaters Corners, VT) – Long Trail Brewing Co. is making a couple changes with its branding as it approaches the second half of the year. In addition to the Brown Bag Series, which launched late last year, the company introduced the Farmhouse Ales series in May and will kickstart the Brush and Barrel Series this quarter.

Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin Ale: Brush and Barrel Series
Long Trail Imperial Pumpkin Ale is the first offering in Long Trail’s new Brush and Barrel Series. This limited release seasonal treat is small batch brewed with pumpkins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, with increased
malts and a touch of bitterness for the perfect balance.
Long Trail Farmhouse Ales
Our Farmhouse Artisanal Ales are a series of unique, exclusive brews available only in our brewery taproom. Crafted with care in our new farmhouse pilot brewery, these beers are unfiltered and unscripted expressions of our brewers’ individual and collective brewing personalities.
At the Long Trail Farmhouse, we brew one barrel at a time, so each of these special brews is limited to fewer than 100 pints. When it’s gone, it might be gone forever. There’s no set schedule and very few rules, so when inspiration strikes, we fire up the kettles and begin the adventure of creating our next great brew.
Note: The first beer in this series was a Black Rye IPA in May. These are not saisons (though some could be hypothetically).
Long Trail Brown Bag Series Lemon Pepper Kolsch
Background on Product Development: This was a homebrew recipe developed by Tom Harris, one of the staff brewers at Long Trail. Kölschbiers are native to Cologne, in Northern Germany. They are a light, top fermented ale, typically with a long cellaring time to yield a clean, refreshing flavor profile. Our Brown Bag version combines that classic style with a new twist. Citrusy flavors of lemon zest combine with the bite and aromatics of freshly ground peppercorns, which are added near the end of the brewing process.
Description: A great summer thirst quencher that colors outside the lines of malt and hops. Brewed in traditional Kölschbier style, this beer has a clean, refreshing flavor profile, with strong citrusy and mild peppery notes deriving from the use of lemon rind ground peppercorns in the brewing process.
