
New York could have 200 acres of hops planted by next springs
A decade ago, New York growers planted perhaps 5 acres of hops statewide, according to Cornell University’s cooperative-extension division. Now, 140 acres are under cultivation, worked by at least 100 new hops farmers, Cornell says. The cooperative expects well over 200 acres by next spring.
Still a far cry from the 24,000 acres or so in Yakima Valley but it’s progress…
