MateVeza to open restaurant, small brewery in Oakland’s Uptown District in June ’14

Cerveceria de MateVeza logo(Oakland, CA) – MateVeza chief, Jim Wood, sent out a note on Monday announcing Cervecería de MateVeza’s second location. Below are some highlights of the new location:

– Argentinian Cuisine and Creative Craft Beers Brewed in House
– Located at 1701 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, California.
– Approximately 2,300 square feet.
– The brewpub will serve as another creative test kitchen to develop and refine beer recipes.
– Brewing on a 1 BBL (31-gallon system).
– 15 beers on tap with the majority brewed in house.
– MateVeza bottles and growlers of the beers brewed in house will be available for purchase to go.
– Will feature El Porteño empanadas and other local, quality fare.
– Building landlord and owner of Rocsil’s Shoes at 1701 Telegraph Avenue, Fred Brown, will be retiring when we take over the lease. MateVeza founder and brewer Jim Woods plans to brew “Fred Brown Ale” as the inaugural batch of beer at their new location.
– Scheduled to open in June 2014 pending approvals from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the City of Oakland.
