Weyerbacher update: Tango returns, Blithering Idiot, Bootes, Heresy and more

Weyerbacher Tango Belgian Dark Ale label

(Easton, PA) – The latest from Weyerbacher Brewing, courtesy of this week’s email newsletter…

Tango debuted as the 20th installment of the Brewers’ Select Series in November 2011. After a few tweaks, we’ve decided to bring it back! Tango is a bold Belgian-style ale brewed with cherries (1,200 pounds to be exact) and weighs in at 10.6% ABV. This beer pours a beautiful ruby color with a nice fluffy head offering a very complex aroma of cherries and other dark fruits. Tango is available in 750 ml for a limited time!

Insanity, Weyerbacher’s Blithering Idiot Barleywine aged in used oak bourbon barrels, is on its way to retailers throughout our distribution area! This incredibly complex beer is 11.1% ABV. Insanity ages extremely well, so be sure to lay some down for a few years and see just how amazing this beer is!

Bootes is the next installment in the Brewers’ Select Series. An American Strong Ale, Bootes is available on draft in extremely limited quantities in restaurants and bars right now. The very last of the 12 oz. bottles of Bootes are selling quickly at the Visitors Center, which is the only place where you can get the Brewers’ Select beers in bottles! We’ll fill growlers with Bootes, too!

Upcoming Beer Releases
Heresy is Old Heathen Imperial Stout aged in used bourbon barrels. Although we’ve begun packaging Heresy already, it will likely take until mid to late February before it will be available in the market. Heresy is the exact reward you are looking for at the tail end of winter when you’re just ready for spring to get here already! It’s dark, roasty malt backbone pairs so well with the oak barrel and bourbon notes. Grab some and see what all the fuss is about!

Now Available in Stores!
Look for the last of Quad, our 11.8% Belgian-style quadruppel, and Winter Ale, 5.6% ABV. While Winter Ale is easily one of the best winter session beers and should be consumed fresh, Quad is the perfect cellar candidate! See how long you can age one – they only get better and better!

Speaking of Belgian-style beers, Verboten and Tiny may be the best year-round pair of opposites. Verboten is a Belgian-style Pale Ale, which pairs very well with many types of food and at only 5.9% ABV, you can have a few! On the other side of the spectrum is Tiny, our year-round big black Belgian-style Imperial Stout. Tiny is bottle conditioned and only comes in a 750 ml bottle. Dated for freshness for 5 years, Tiny is another awesome cellar candidate!
