Duclaw sues Left Hand over alleged trademark infringement on two beer brands
DuClaw is suing Left Hand, claiming in a trademark-infringement case filed yesterday in Maryland U.S. District Court that the brewery is violating DuClaw’s trademarks for the two brands, since Left Hand’s versions are now distributed in Maryland by Rosesdale-based Legends Limited.
Left Hand was, of course, a hot topic last week with its trademark filing for “Nitro” which is being disputed by others.

Duclaw has been stealing beer names for years and needs to stop. It’s not that hard to come up with an original beer name.
What other names have they stolen? Black jack stout is way better than black jack porter. This was almost 15 years before Internet was a prominent way to search what labels where already in use. Black jack is pretty common name and sawtooth is based on a pack of wolves. I would not call using general names stealing. Also, left hand is claiming they have the rights to the word nitro. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Worry about making better beer before you get into these petty lawsuits based on names. Let your beer speak for itself.
