Celebrate the release of Ecliptic/Stone White Asteroid Imperial Wit IPA with Ecliptic’s John Harris and the Stone crew on Monday March 3. They will be tapping four kegs of this limited collaboration beer at three bars as well as Ecliptic Brewing during the course of the night, as they bar-crawl their way across Portland on the BREWVANA bus. We are honored to be the crew’s first stop in Southeast Portland, and we will have the beer ready for them (and you!) in the Biercafe when they arrive at 7:45 p.m.
About the beer: John Harris and Stone brewmaster Mitch Steele (pictured) started talking about doing a collaboration in the summer of 2012. They met up at Ecliptic on January 24, 2014 to brew this special beer. Ecliptic is about space and Asteroids are Stones, so the name ties the two breweries together. Pale and wheat malts combine for a solid malt profile. Motueka hops were used for their citrus character. These combine with the sweet orange peel and coriander to lend a big rich fruity character. This Belgian yeast lends a spiciness and dry hopping in aging make a very drinkable beer with the bitter finish of an IPA.
