The Catoctin Mountain range offers a historic overlook that is home to our annual Brewhouse Rarities pitch session. Each July, the entire brewery gathers and teams of our staff – from production to accounting to sales and marketing – pitcher their ideas for the next year’s lineup. The only criteria lies in a few simple words from the Good Doctor: “Too weird to live, too rare to die.”
Fresh ginger was added at the end of the boil and orange peel added post-fermentation to create big ginger character in the aroma and flavor, followed by fresh orange one the finish. Dual fermentation with both Belgian and Japanese Sake yeast strains impart additional fruit, spice, and light floral notes in this complex and refreshing beer.
