Press Release:
(Mount Pleasant, SC) – Brewery Dilewyns is releasing a limited edition beer, Philly Tripel, the only beer brewed in Belgium for Philly Beer Week, beginning May 30. Philly Beer Week–the longest running and largest week-long celebration of craft beer in America–has sponsored a collaboration between one of their city’s own breweries and a great brewery from Belgium. This year, Brewery Dilewyns in Belgium worked together with the team at Philadelphia’s own Dock Street Brewing to create a beer representing the rich brewing history of both cities. Dock Street traveled to the small city of Dendermonde in Belgium to brew at Brewery Dilewyns. The resulting limited edition beer, brewed exclusively for Philly Beer Week, is Philly Tripel. A Belgian Abbey Tripel (8.5% ABV), the beer is brewed with organic acacia honey from Belgium. Known for its clean and floral flavor, acacia honey gives the beer a delicate hint of sweetness, along with warm flavors of vanilla. Brewed only once, you won’t want to miss out on this spectacular limited-edition beer. Philly Tripel will be released at the Opening Tap ceremony to kick-start the week’s festivities on Friday, May 30, when Philadelphia’s Mayor Nutter performs the traditional first tap. Philly Beer Week runs from May 30 through June 8. Total Beverage Solution acquired the rights to the Brewery Dilewyns’ portfolio in February and are proud and excited to be representing the brand. Philly Tripel is now available for pre-order at [email protected].
About Brewery Dilewyns
Despite being one of the newest craft breweries in Belgium, Brewery Dilewyns has a family history rich with brewing experience. The brewery is run by head brewer Anne-Catherine Dilewyns, only 26 years old, who has been named one of the rising stars of female brewers. Only in production since 2011, Anne Catherine’s beers have already received accolades from publications such as Saveur, the Chicago Sun Times and First We Feast, setting her up as one of the industry’s most ambitious newcomers to watch in the coming years.
About Dock Street
Opened in 1985, Dock Street was the first craft brewery established in Philadelphia since prohibition and one of the first microbreweries started in the United States. The brewing program at Dock Street is run by the young and talented head brewer Justin Low, who continues the brewery’s history of pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in craft beer. Earning awards and acclaim for over twenty-five years from the World Beer Cup, the Great American Beer Festival and even the New York Times, Dock Street has established itself as one of the classic mainstays of craft brewing in not only Philadelphia, but the country.
